The Prints: Introduction

Many scholars name three artists as seminal figures of etching as an artform, Durer, Rembrandt and Goya, the third of whom was an exceptional artist in metal and stone. His principal works can be divided into four series, each one corresponding to a certain moment of physical or psychological crisis.
